I’ve never seen plant supports like that. Mine are always upright. Do the cucumbers hang through to be ‘under’ the support for easier picking, or is there another reason for having them on that angle?
Maggie, The idea is to provide shade for other plants, which didn’t grow this year! Maybe next year, right? The cukes lay on the wire, we also had a melon grow up the support, it made it easier to keep track of while ripening.
Oh yes – that makes a lot of sense Shari ! I showed hubby the photo and he remembered that the best cucumbers he ever ate were in Australia growing on a frame like yours!
